Kelly Currie
Kelly is a partner with Crowell & Moring LLP, where he is a member of the White Collar & Regulatory Enforcement Group. Before joining Crowell, he was a federal prosecutor in the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of New York for a dozen years, where he held a number of leadership roles, including Acting United States Attorney, Chief Assistant U.S. Attorney, and Deputy Chief of the Criminal Division. He now represents companies and individuals in government investigations, white collar criminal defense matters, and regulatory enforcement actions.
From 1996 to 1998, Kelly served in Belfast as a senior advisor to former U.S. Senator George J. Mitchell, who chaired the Northern Ireland Political Negotiations. The negotiations resulted in the Good Friday Agreement. He previously served on Senator Mitchell’s senate staff. He received undergraduate and law degrees from the University of Virginia. Kelly grew up in Maine, and is a fifth-generation Irish American, with paternal ancestry from County Kildare. He lives in Brooklyn with his wife Tara Sher and teenagers Gabriel and Bebe.
